It appears that there are going to be a lot of changes coming to the Disney World parade schedule coming in 2014. Some of these rumors have been floating around. In May though we got this information first hand from cast members.
First off over at Magic Kingdom the Celebrate a Dream Come True Parade will stop running at the end of this year. This means once the parade switches over to the Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade it will not be coming back in January.
Sometime in March or April the new Festival of Fantasy parade will start. However until that time Magic Kingdom will not have a 3 o’clock parade. MISICI (Move It Shake It Celebrate It) will still run as well as Main Street Electrical. Keep in mind that is still subject to change.
If you will be visiting Magic Kingdom between now and November be sure to take some time to see Celebrate. As well if you will be visiting between January and March/April keep in mind that there will not be a parade in your planning.
As most of you know Hollywood Studios has already pulled it’s 3 o’clock parade Pixar Pals Countdown to Fun Parade. Since the Hollywood Studios expansion may start soon it doesn’t appear that there will be a replacement for it any time soon.
Finally either sometime at the end of this year or the beginning of next the Animal Kingdom’s Mickey’s Jammin’ Jungle Parade will stop running. So far there hasn’t been any information on why or if there will be a replacement. In fact it has been strongly suggested that there will be no replacement. I highly recommend taking some time to see the parade if you will be visiting within the next few months before it is retired.
What does all of this mean? It means that for the first few months in 2014 there will be no 3 o’clock parades running at Disney World. If you will be visiting during this time be sure to plan accordingly. There may end up being some alternative entertainment offerings in lieu of the parades. We’ll try to be on the look out for any new information.
